In no particular order… Underfloor heating, the shower and the remote button to turn it on. Very comfy bed. Loved the metal art on the walls. Well equipped kitchen.

The Lighthouse Cottage is a fabulous place to stay if you want peace and quiet along with stunning scenery. The Cottage is very well equipped with everything you will ever need for your stay. Absolutely loved the log burner fire which was so nice when the wind and rain outside was blowing a storm. The Cottage is very tastefully furnished and everything is of the highest quality. The Cottage is on a private Nature reserve and the walks are beautiful with many hides dotted around where you can sit and watch the wildlife. I cannot recommend Lighthouse Cottage highly enough.

we loved staying at the cottage, it felt like home. we enjoyed exploring the nature reserve, highly recommend the guided walk. we saw seals and lots of wading birds. perfect retreat place for autumn.

Perfect for unwinding in nature. Very cosy and clean and good for a family stay. It is a remote place so pubs and shops are a drive away, however this adds to the peacefulness.

My friend and I liked everything about this booking. We are amateur photographers and we were in our element. Especially liked the lack of people and just to have time to observe the beautiful area and made the use of every minute. Although we only had one good sunrise, to walk up by the Groyn Hide and walk along the top early morning was a joy. Lovely sky scapes. The accommodation was by far the best place we have stayed in so far. It was homely and very comfortable (heating was on when we arrived) and furnished to a very high standard. Comfy beds and nice clean linen and towels. Views especially from the kitchen window were excellent. We found the South and North Island to be completely different from each other but both beautiful in their own way.
We would loved to have stayed longer and genuinely sad to leave. Last but not least thank you for the Proseco, went down a treat with our first meal!!

This is a one off place just fantastic ,cosy warm underfloor heating , spotless in every room , an overall great experience and we will be coming again asap thank you

Amazing, just book it now…Number 2 Light house cottage was a real home from home. The owners used to live there so everything is of the nicest, best quality. Not just brought to fill a holiday let.
The beds are all comfy, master bedroom has a low, soft memory foam bed and not what we are used to but we had lovely nights sleep there. Velux windows allow you to look at the sky before you close the fitted blinds. The double shower is fab too & Sonos sound system great. DVD player with it so take a few films.
The track (sea road) is a shock first time as bumpy, call at nature reserve centre for a comfort break just before the gateway to it!!! 2nd & third trip ok by the 4th I was on ‘top gear’ and loving it. Clarissa (lovely neighbour if you get chance to say hello)who lives at number one has an ordinary car and bombs along fine.
There is a Tesco 5 mins away as the crow flies …. but 30 mins as a ‘top gear driver’ so write a list as you won’t be popping out for what you’ve forgotten!!
Walney is beautiful, lots of bird watching, murmurations & seals 1pm to 4pm from hide near by, got a nearer view on Piel island ferry £15 each with Steve the retired lifeboat man. Lunch on Piel was good, pie, pasty etc all home cooked.
Cows and sheep roam freely which is lovely to see, lots of beautiful wild flowers, Clarissa showed us where to find the Walney geranium.
Lots to do and see nearby the Dock museum was good and Lake District easy to drive for a day out.

The cottage is beautifully decorated and equipped. Watching the birds and seals in the shoreline bird hyde was fabulous.

As a family we enjoy staying in unquie placed as this did not dissapoint, it was brilliant. The lighthouse is remote, peaceful and full of wildlife and a great getaway from the hustle and bustle of modern life.
The house had everything we needed, we were given a lovely welcome package, great directions and good advice before our stay.
The sun sets into evening were amazing so was watching the seals at high tide.
Would highly recommend this property.

Lighthouse cottage felt magical - located in the South of the island, remote and wild. The views vere spectacular in every direction and kept on unfolding throughout our stay - Piel Island, Roa and the South Lakes Peninsular. From Black Combe to the Lake District Fells all the way to Blackpool! The sunrises and sunsets revealed a kaleidoscope of colours, ever shifting and becoming centre stage. The Nature Reserve is a gem and we felt privileged to be able to watch seals from the hide closest to the cottage. The cottage itself was perfect: immaculately clean and with everything we needed and more. The efficient log burner, underfloor heating and exceptional bathrooms set the property apart from the rest. Whilst the Nespresso machine and well equipped kitchen ensured we felt at home. Lighthouse cottage provided us with an experience we will never forget - thank you.

We loved everything, what an absolute amazing place to stay. Not a single thing we can fault. Very homely, amazing layout, has everything you need. Stunning location!!!

Amazing property and location. Everything we needed for a relaxing week away from the daily grind.

The photo of the seating area on the mount was obviously taken when it was newly painted and gives an highly inaccurate impression, the seating area is sand and loose bricks whilst the table is just flaked off old paint. The highly sophisticated sound system was unnecessary we felt, whilst heat in the on suite bathroom is necessary and still not working dispite someone mentioning it in the guest book during a February visit. We used the family bathroom. The vax cleaner mounting fell off the wall as the rawplugs were not secured correctly and a couple of smaller saucepans would have been useful. We enjoyed the quiet, the landscape, the seals singing on an evening but not a place we would return to.

The quality of the accommodation and attention to detail is outstanding. Fantastic location.

This stay was just what we needed. Easy travel to the Lakes where we had wonderful walks, then could escape back to secluded peace at the light house. The property is beautifully presented, exceeded our expectations which were high

Just what we wanted - absolutely off the beaten track. Toasty warm, comfy beds, huge towels, amazing views, relaxing sofas, great TV’s and capable WiFi

House was lovely and clean, and had everything we needed for our stay. It was so peaceful. So much wildlife to see and we loved being in the nature reserve in the evening.

This is an amazing property so close to Barrow but a million miles away once you have entered the Reserve. I grew up in the Town but had never been to this part of Walney Island. The access road, once in the Reserve, is a good 15 mins bumpy drive. I would recommend arriving with provisions and not leaving. The house is well stocked with high quality kitchen / cooking facilities and a very good TV and sound system. Bathrooms are all excellent. This is a perfect place to gather with family / friends and just enjoy the surroundings and each other's company. Stunning!

The lighthouse is really lovely, luxurious accommodation. It is supplied with everything you could possibly need and the hosts include a neat welcome package. The island is beautiful and the chance to enjoy it in peace and quiet when the reserve gates were shut was something we really valued. We fully recommend the lighthouse, the island and the hosts.

The location and history of the lighthouse are tremendous with the added bonus of wonderful scenery and wildlife.
The cottage amenities and cleanliness are first rate...going beyond in terms of availability to all luxury items like sound system, kitchen fixtures, etc.

A beautiful location secluded from the town nestled on a nature reserve. After 5 when the reserve closes it feels like a private island to walk around and enjoy magnificent sunsets.

What a lovely cottage, fully equipped, warm and welcoming. We’ve just spent 2 weeks here and enjoyed every day. It’s a little bumpy on the final track but so worth while. We enjoyed good weather which for September was a surprise, shorts and T-shirt every day. The lakes are close and worth a trip to see the sites and quaint villages and towns.

The cottage is fantastically kitted out with absolutely everything you would need, it's very comfortable and has fabulous views. Thanks for the treats which were much appreciated. We had an amazing break in your superb house. The house had everything one could need. We loved just walking out of the house and seeing the wonderful scenery. the kids loved the seals and the birds! We are going home very well rested.

We are back for our second stay in this wonderful place! We just love it and have had a fabulous time. Thank you Debbie and Martin for the welcome goodies and for everything the house offers. We've absolutely loved the peace and tranquility, the daily walks by the sea and the time to just be. We had some sunshine and the howling winds and lashing rain didn't spoil our time here as it was so lovely and snug inside. Thank you again and see you next year!

We have had a lovely and relaxing stay at the lighthouse. It was lovely being surrounded by the cows the seals and the birds. We loved our daily walks listening to the sea and coming back to the lighthouse which was warm and cosy with the fire on. Thank you so much for the lovely stay. We will definitely be back!

The Lighthouse Cottage: magical, special, unique, you could go on and on! Very comfortable and well-equipped too. We loved the sonos sound system and the TVs in the bedroom too. The welcome pack was much appreciated and the other essentials - not every self catering cottage has been so well provided for the guests.

Saw seals from the groyne hide and eider ducks along the lane. had a few trips in to the Lake District. Our first visit to this area. Very beautiful scenery within easy driving distance.

We had an amazing stay. Everything was a truly magical experience.

Everything had been taken care of, from the TVs to the binoculars. We made great use of the Sonar system, waking up to the music was great! Standing at the window and watching the cows and sheep was so peaceful, such a great escape.
