What a magical place. The Stables were beautiful and had everything - and I mean everything - that you could need during your stay. As soon as we arrived, I could literally feel myself relaxing and all the stress leaving my body. A short walk from the Stables was the hosts Shepherd's Huts and the fields in which they sit. We were encouraged to explore and found a quaint little fairy garden, 2 fire pits, numerous gathering areas and the resident Shetland, Hector. We decided to have a fire during our first night and it was the perfect way to start our weekend. Our host, Jenny, was fabulous. Warm, friendly and nothing was too much trouble, we just had to ask if we needed anything. She has created a beautiful place to stay and even contacted me prior to arrival to inform us that their neighbour would be having a party during our visit. Even though we could hear the music, it only added to our experience and did not disturb us at all. We are definitely going to be returning to this little gem and I for one can not wait!! The location was easy to find, and it was so peaceful and quiet. We were met with a warm welcome from the host Jenny and her husband Terry, then was shown around the beautiful accommodation and farmland.
The accommodation caters to all your needs, and if there was anything we wanted, Jenny was there and ever so helpful. We bought food from a local butcher/ farm shop in The New Forest and cooked everyday, the appliances were simple and easy to use. The bed was like sleeping on a fluffy cloud. The luxurious bath with bubbles was great to relax in after long days walking around the local towns and The New Forest. Jenny had a lot of great suggestions on where to go and places to see.
We were told we could explore the grounds, and all the huts were accessible. Oh, what a joy! I felt like a kid again exploring and discovering the land and the shepherd's huts and all the wonders inside. There's even a fairy garden hidden amongst some trees! Jenny really has thought of everything. If you want to relax by the stable and chill on the egg swing and listen to the birds or meander over to the cutest and friendliest Shetland pony Hector and have a nosie around in all the little shepherd's huts or just sit and watch the sunset beside a burning firepit and roast marshmallows, it will be the best choice you'll make. It has all you could need and more.
