parking can be tricky as on some days we had to park a little walk away. no biggie for us but I can imagine others struggling. heating was easy to use and very efficient. the downsides: the mattresses. I could feel the slats and the springs. it's petty, I know but I'm 6ft 3 and 95kg, I need a firm supportive mattress. my friends who tagged along had no comments regarding the mattress but they are of a normal height and weight... As with any village like this, it's full of holiday homes etc. So do not tell the locals you are staying there. The friendliness soon vanishes. if you're taking dogs, keep in mind all of the grass areas are no dog zones. I thought this was really odd. not something I have come across before. overall a nice trip with good pubs, walks and close enough to a city for food shopping I would for sure stay again.

Water pressure in the shower was fab, good selection of games, TV, kitchen well equipped (although no microwave).

The beds are the most uncomfortable beds we’ve ever slept on, they are so soft you can feel the springs of the mattress and bedframe when you turn at night, I don’t mind a soft bed, but these mattresses are so poor. And if you sit upright you sink through the mattress into the bedframe, the bedframes are also very loud and squeaky. The duvets are encased in (non removable) covers, they don’t hold any shape so the duvet ends up lumpy and loose in the cover. Was so disappointing, as if the beds and mattresses were slightly better quality we would be back here in a heartbeat, after a day of climbing, hiking & running you really need better quality mattresses. There is no parking which is fine and the info says to park on the main road, but residents have (understandably) put cones up a lot of the road which can make parking tricky. We loved the location, and the house, but the beds were awful.

Me and my partner booked this property from a selection around the Peak District, the winner was the price! Once we arrived at the property we were pleasantly surprised by the character that wasn’t captured in the pictures. Really cosy living space (my partner is 6’4 so had to adjust to ducking). The hosts had left a box of cup cakes on arrival and maps / guides for walks and local attractions as well as board games. It was exactly what we were looking for!
