Description
Idris Barn is a beautiful barn conversion which perfectly mixes the modern with the traditional. The private hot tub and small games room will help ensure guests have a fun and relaxing time away. The barn is perfectly located in the Snowdonia National Park and guests can easily access both the coast and mountains from the property.
Guests will find ample off-road parking for two cars. Walking in to the barn, guests will find the games area with a table football, darts board and piano. All of the living quarters are located on the first floor, up the stairs. There is a separate kitchen which is well-stocked for a self-catering stay and the open plan dining and living area. The master bedroom has its own ensuite shower room and there is a second twin bedroom (with a zip-link bed which can be a superking on request) and a bathroom. From the first floor living quarters, guests can enjoy wonderful views out towards the mountains.
Outside, to the rear of Idris Barn is the hot tub set on the patio with outdoor furniture and is a great place to relax of an evening.
Idris Barn is within walking distance to Dolgellau town centre which provides a good selection of independent craft and gift shops, five pubs and a wine bar, and several restaurants and cafes. There is also a bakery which produces fresh bread and cakes each day. Dolgellau is a designated 'cycle break centre' offering a range of dedicated cycle routes all around the area. The popular Coed y Brenin mountain bike trail is within easy reach.
Please note that Idris Barn sits on the same site as Cader Cottage and The Manor House. The home shares access with these properties, as well as a local plant hire business which operates between 8am-6pm Monday to Saturday. Although the garden of Idris Barn is private, guests may encounter some noise disruption from other properties.

A lovely setting , plenty of room for us to base ourselves for great days out , then return for a few drinks in the hot tub.

So many beaches which are a short drive away , great for the dogs. Lots of local takeaways for food when we didn’t want to cook . Would definitely recommend this venue.

location was great It had a spar and garage less than 5 minute walk away, the jacuzzi was fantastic 😍👌🏼, kitchen had everything you needed to cook a family meal and great games in the house 😀

The physical internal property was lovely, and as the pictures. It was cosy and clean and provided all that was needed for a holiday. The addition of the games room was great. Great location for a short walk to town.

The pictures are deceiving in terms of the outdoor space, it's not as closed off/private as we thought it would be and looked out onto the other properties. There is a large grass area which could make a nice garden but it was full of rubbish. The hosee more

The hot tub had been fenced off (assume to stop the adjacent company overlooking), but this made it feel enclosed. I had read that there may be construction work, but it was actually a functioning plant company next door, which isn't great when you come away to relax, but I may not have read the description properly, therefore this should be noted when booking. Personally didn't think it was worth what we paid.

Plenty of space for the 4 of us and a baby. Nicly equipped with everything we needed. Would have been nice to have a high chair included however as bringing such a bulky item with us wasn't ideal. Overall it was a very nice place to stay at.

Kitchen needs renewing as v tired.
Fridge doesn't have freezer section. There would be plenty of space for a large fridge freezer in the corner.
No dishwasher, which doesn't make for a good holiday!
