Description
Laurel Farm Barn is a luxury two-bedroomed barn conversion set in the picturesque village of Shotteswell on the edge of the Cotswolds and is ideally placed for trips to the larger towns of Banbury and Oxford.
Recently refurbished to a five-star standard, Laurel Farm Barn was originally constructed in the 17th Century and is set within the manicured grounds of a working farm meaning that guests can get to know the horses, sheep and enjoy many walks across the fields from their doorstep.
Walking in through the front door into the spacious hallway, there is plenty of room to hang the coats and leave the wellies and walking boots following a day out in the countryside. Off the hallway on one side can be found the ground-floor bedroom and en-suite shower room. With one of the bedrooms and all the living space being on one level, it's an ideal choice for guests with limited mobility.
To the other side of the bedroom is the open plan kitchen, living and dining room. This room is an incredible space with its exposed beams, characterful furniture and luxurious designer kitchen which comes with all the necessary amenities to cook up a feast including an impressive Aga Rangemaster cooker. Guests will love relaxing of an evening in the elegant Chesterfield sofas and watch the sun set through the large floor-to-ceiling windows.
The french doors open up on to a private, enclosed garden which is South-facing so guests can bring the outside in during the warm summer evenings. The garden comes with a barbecue and outdoor seating.
The second bedroom is located down the wooden stairs and is a good size with it's own private doors onto the garden. Both of the bedrooms have luxury cotton sheets and bed throws, while the bath towels and hand towels also provided for the use of guests.
The property is well-equipped for children with with a travel cot, high chair, stair gate and children’s crockery and cutlery all available. The village playground is only a two-minute walk from the cottage and slightly further afield both The Falcon pub and The National Herb Centre have children’s play areas. Children will also love seeing the horses in their stables or in the neighbouring paddocks.
Laurel Farm Barn is located in the heart of the pretty village of Shotteswell which is the ideal base for guests wanting to explore the North Cotswolds, Shakespeare's Stratford-upon-Avon, Banbury and Oxford. All of these are within very easy reach for a day-trip and there are numerous footpaths from the front door should guests prefer a day out hiking. The National Trust property Upton House and Gardens is ten minutes away which boasts an impressive house, famous gardens and an art collection boasting works from Whistler, Stubbs, Hogarth and Canaletto. Silverstone is also a short drive away while the local pub, The Falcon, is only a 15 minute walk away over the fields.
Private parking for two cars is available and the property has high-speed Wi-Fi throughout. There's underfloor, central heating and all fuel, power, linen and towels are included in the rent. Regrettably, pets aren't permitted.
EV car charging is available at a small extra cost.

Fantastic accommodation in a quiet rural setting. Spotlessly clean with a wonderful welcome, including warm homemade bread, waiting for us on arrival. We could find no faults in the accommodation & would highly recommend it.
