Description
Oak View cottage is a newly built lodge with three bedrooms comfortably sleeping six people. It is set within in a 17 acre deer farm in the peaceful mid-Devon countryside with magnificent views of the surrounding hills and forest.
The cottage has its own private hot tub for guests to relax while absorbing the scenery and watching fallow deer grazing within the farm and spotting the abundant wildlife including birds, foxes and squirrels.
Oak View cottage is well equipped with kitchen appliances and all the amenities you would expect from a luxury accommodation including a dishwasher, microwave and washing machine. There is also WiFi, TV and central heating making it a popular spot even in the winter months.
The cottage has been equipped with children in mind with children’s books and toys, travel cot, children’s tableware, baby bath and high chair all readily available. Outside, apart from the hot tub, is a patio with table and chairs and a BBQ.
The cottage is built on a single level and provides excellent access with no stairs or steps to enter and a well lit path so is ideal for less able guests. There are grab rails in the bathrooms and doorways are wide enough for easier access. There are also plastic shower chairs available in the bathrooms.
Oak View cottage is situated next door to Beech View cottage and the two can be booked together to provide accommodation to sleep twelve people.
Oak View is ideally situated with good access to shops in Tiverton which is only about 3 miles away with supermarkets (Morrisons and Tesco), shops, pubs and restaurants. Tiverton is brimming with history and heritage; with romantic castles, historic houses, traditional thatched villages, and horse drawn barges and is the ideal base for exploring the Devon countryside where you can enjoy rural countryside walks and wildlife.
On the outskirts of Tiverton lies the Grand Western Canal with its amazing 24 bridges along its 11-mile stretch, it is now a beauty spot with local wildlife. Enjoy the scenery with a walk along the towpath, or trips on painted barges drawn by magnificent shire horses, or at your own pace aboard a hired canoe, kayak or paddleboard.
If you love local history, Tiverton is brimming with heritage. Visit the beautiful Tiverton Castle, a royal fortress commissioned in 1106 by Henry 1, or the 11th Century Bickleigh Castle with moated gardens.
One of the finest surviving Gothic Revival houses is the National Trust property of Knightshayes Court, the house is an exciting architectural experience, with extraordinary 'medieval' romantic interiors, rich decoration and ceramics. The Grand Western Canal Cycle route – an easy 8-mile cycle from Tiverton to the Somerset border, perfect for families, sits beside the canal towpath and takes in superb views of the Mid Devon countryside along the way. You will also find rope climbing and an Adventure Playground on offer in the town, as well as several spacious and picturesque parks. The Exe Valley Way runs through the town and there are a myriad of footpaths and riverside walks to explore making Tiverton a great destination for ramblers.
The town has a great selection of unique independent shops and boutiques and plenty of inviting eateries to choose from. Handmade crafts, gifts and excellent local produce can be found at the historic Pannier Market including a Farmer's Market on the third Wednesday of each month.
Tiverton is ideally located for access to Blackdown Hills and the national parks of Exmoor to the north and Dartmoor to the south and beyond access to the north and south Devon coastlines with picturesque towns and sandy beaches.

I think a more thorough clean was required as still dusty in places. Mattress sheet didn't fit which was annoying. Kitchen equipment could be improved, i.e more than 1 plate person and 1 set of cutlery per person (6 forks, 6 knives, etc). Minor constsee more
