Description
The property is a fine 5 bedroom, 4 bathroom Georgian country house nestled in extensive grounds amongst the historic Somerley Estate. Relax and enjoy your holiday in beautiful surroundings, both inside and out, for the ultimate luxury escape.
As you enter into a light and spacious reception hall, there are marble tiled floors and an ornate feature wrought iron staircase up to the first floor. There is a glorious vista across the garden and out onto the paddock beyond.
The main living room is welcoming and beautifully furnished, with a period feature fire-place with wood burner, and plenty of logs to get you started. There is also an additional living area or morning room which makes a great informal relaxing space, and has double French doors leading outside onto a private terrace where you can enjoy your breakfast in the morning sun.
The kitchen is stunning with a truly elegant feel, and superb marble work surfaces. It is exceptionally well equipped, so you will have everything you need to cook up a feast for all the family. There is a range style oven, grill, and 5 burner gas hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, and the sink has the added luxury of a boiling water tap. There is even a wine cooler to keep your favourite Pinot Grigio chilled to perfection!
Past the kitchen, the main dining room is a splendid space with a vaulted ceiling exposing characterful oak beams. With a full size dining table to seat ten, this is a space fit for wonderful family meals that will make memories for years to come.
With two bedrooms on the ground floor, and three on the first floor, there is a great degree of flexibility for the sleeping arrangements. All the bedrooms are beautifully dressed, with ample space and storage. Upstairs, the master suite offers a super-king bed and an opulent fully tiled marble bathroom, complete with oversized bath tub, twin basins and a separate shower enclosure. Along the landing, there is another super-king bedroom offering en-suite with bath and shower over, its own balcony and long reaching views across the gardens. The third upstairs bedroom is a double, and has access to the main family bathroom, which again is contemporary and of excellent quality, having bath with shower over, basin and WC.
Downstairs, one bedroom has a super-king size bed, and the other a double, both with access to a smart shower room, complete with basin and close-coupled WC.
Outside, there are beautifully manicured gardens to enjoy, the morning room patio has a BBQ with seating for six, and then at the back of the house, there is a main patio terrace with rattan dining furniture for ten and four sun loungers, perfect for dining al fresco after a long day of exploring the local area. The five bar gate from the garden to the paddock offers access via a bridleway into the nearby Ringwood Forest.
There is plenty to do in the immediate local area, and it is renowned for excellent walking, hiking and cycling. Somerley Park Golf Club is also very close by. Ringwood and Fordingbridge are the closest market towns, both within 5 miles, and offer a wide range of amenities including independent shops, restaurants and cafés to explore as you wish.
If you are looking to make the most of the countryside then the glorious New Forest is less than 15 minutes away, where you will be spoilt for choice with beautiful scenery, with plenty of chances to spot the local wild ponies and donkeys, and perhaps even a deer amongst the woodland. There are a plethora of beautiful villages, attractions and welcoming pubs within the National Park.
The coastline is also within easy reach, being roughly a 30 minute drive down Christchurch with its picturesque harbour and quay. Here you will also find Highcliff Beach, Avon Beach, and further west the beaches at Southbourne, Boscombe and Bournemouth.
