Whilst retaining many of its original characteristics of days past, The Old Wesleyan Chapel has recently undergone extensive renovation works and provides a quirky layout to the perfect luxury escape for large friends-and-family get-togethers. The breath-taking lancet windows beam life into the chapel on a sunny day, with the original brickwork on display for its architectural virtue.
In the heart of mid Wales, Dinas Mawddwy is amongst areas of incredible beauty, with so many historic places to visit and sights to behold. Its present beauty complimented with such colourful history, from the legends of King Arthur to the Red Bandits of Mawddwy – There’s plenty of history to discover for any enthusiast!
Whether it be entertainment or relaxation, The Old Wesleyan Chapel can accommodate all with luxurious hot tub in the garden where you can unwind in the serene surroundings. Inside, a game of foosball, pool or darts in the games room will surely make for a memorable evening between friends and family.
On the first floor and kept warm with a large woodburning stove, a grandiose living-room with comfortable sofa shares ample space with the long dining table to seat all, including subtle pew seats complimenting the history of the chapel. 4 beautifully adorned double bedrooms share the 1st floor and will comfortably sleep 8 guests, with further sleeping for 4 in a twin bunk room located on the ground floor, by the games room and large bathroom, with walk in shower, beautifully tiled floor and freestanding, roll top bath.
The kitchen is equipped with everything you’ll need to cater for a luxurious stay, however the local village pub with restaurant is only a 1 minute walk where you can feast, drink and laugh in this traditional inn, made famous for the tasty, locally produced food, prepared fresh every day. A highchair is available for young guests.
From the myriad of paths to walk as you explore the local mountains of the Snowdonia National Park, Cader Idris is but 10 miles away, whilst you can also explore the local town of Dolgellau, with its host of shops and traditional stores will delight any visitor to this historic town. The chapel was a great place for a family celebration. Games room and hot tub were excellent ways to spend time, there were beautiful surroundings and lots of walks from the door. A nice pub for a beer in the village although as it had 1 food hygienesee more

A nice pub for a beer in the village although as it had 1 food hygiene rating didn’t risk eating there! Not much else in walking distance but we had no plans to eat out so was no concern to us. Great location to get to other tourist spots in the area. Would recommend!

It was really warm and comfortable and felt really cozy, but with plenty of spaces for everyone to enjoy their own thing. We loved the hot tub and the games room, and we did some great walks straight from the village. The pub was very friendly, and tsee more

One of my favourite places is Talylyn lake and being only 20 mins from there was exactly what I wanted! I would definitely recommend if you stay here. The games room was the perfect way to keep us entertained and we loved having the hot tub even witsee more
One of my favourite places is Talylyn lake and being only 20 mins from there was exactly what I wanted! I would definitely recommend if you stay here. The games room was the perfect way to keep us entertained and we loved having the hot tub even with it being the colder months! Only small things: WiFi did struggle when all 9 were connected so it’s definitely a more tech free holiday (but this was absolutely fine for us) make sure to do food shop otw down if you’re planning to eat in the place as only really co-ops local which aren’t the cheapest, but they work for just the essential bits and definitely keep the heating on at all times!! But the heating does work well considering the building! Overall we had an amazing few days and are considering coming back in the summer months to see how lovely it would be in the warmth, but even in peak winter, we had the best time, thank you so much to retreat stays!!

It was a big beautiful building for a large group to enjoy together and also get space separately. We enjoyed the games room and the living area was relaxing with the log burner. The beds were very comfy and rooms made up lovely. Heated bathroom floosee more

The area was lovely for a walk. The local red lion pub was cosy and they were very accommodating great recommendation! We really enjoyed the stay and it exceeded expectations!

The bedroom/bathroom doors need a bit of wd40 there was lots of squeaking! The games room sounds amplifies up to the bedrooms which was a bit stressy with sleeping babies but not sure what can be done about that!

After visiting Wales last December and booking through Airbnb, we decided to try a different area and go with a larger group. There was 10 of us in total (4 adults and 6 children) and we had the best time. The house was absolutely stunning and has unsee more
After visiting Wales last December and booking through Airbnb, we decided to try a different area and go with a larger group. There was 10 of us in total (4 adults and 6 children) and we had the best time. The house was absolutely stunning and has undergone some pretty impressive work to get a modern yet traditional feel. The bedrooms and bathrooms were breathtaking and I in particular was very impressed that some of them had underfloor heating which was certainly needed. Due to the size of the property we found it difficult to keep warm. There is a log burner in the main living area with a limited number of logs but it just wouldn't stay lit for long unfortunately however this is my only gripe. The games room downstairs and the bedrooms that veered off from them was always toasty so we spent a lot of time downstairs. The quilts on the beds helped you retain heat at night and I'll be honest I didn't want to get up. I've spent most of the weekend in awe of the place, just taking it in.

More information regarding the local area would be nice such as places to visit, explore, eat and activities. The house is clean but the high ceilings and exposed stone work have a few dust motes which need sorting out. |

Location is good with great walks and shops within a 10/15 minute drive - although I believe there are good walks straight from the house. I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to meet up with family/friends any time of the year. Games room & hot tub a lovely bonus Thank you for a wonderful stay.
