The Old Rectory also includes a versatile family room and helpful utility with a washing machine. The ground floor also offers two bedrooms, as well as a convenient W/C.

Upstairs you’ll discover six additional bedrooms, including one with an en-suite bathroom and another with an en-suite shower room. Two more bathrooms on this floor ensure maximum convenience and ample space for guests. Bedrooms 1,2 and 6 have a super king bed which can be made into two singles —please specify your preference when booking.

Unwind in the beautifully landscaped garden, complete with stylish, modern sun loungers by a private hot tub. Soak up the sun or enjoy evenings under the stars in this tranquil haven, perfect for relaxation or entertaining. The York stone terrace, extends from the house, is ideal for alfresco dining or simply soaking in the peaceful surroundings. Beyond the terrace, immaculate lawns stretch gracefully toward a natural pond, offering a tranquil and picturesque retreat. There is a hot tub at The Old Rectory that you are welcome to use during your stay. However, please let us know before booking if you’d like to use it.

Lovely house for a getaway with friends, but unhelpful management let it down a bit for us

Spacious bedrooms. Lovely big garden with pretty surrounds and ducks, which was loved by the kids. Hot tub was very warm and ready for our arrival as requested.

No issues with the property or the host, however the service from Finest Retreats was a bit confusing.

I had confirmed and paid extra for an early check-in with Finest Retreats only to find out the day before from the owner that Finest Retreats had also booked other guests in before us and that it would not be possible to check-in early because the cleaners wouldn't have enough time to turn the place round. This was extremely inconvenient as we had arranged a shopping delivery based on check-in being from 12 and made for a very stressful start to the trip.

Secondly, I had enquired with Finest Retreats about any coffee making facilities as we had issues on previous self-catered trips where we couldn't get the right pods for the machine. Finest Retreats helpfully told me it was a Nespresso Vertuo machine, only to arrive and it be a completely different machine so we had wasted £25 on coffee for a machine that didn't exist and still didn't have any.

Finally, the online check-in process is extremely tedious. Completing all the mandatory fields only to repeatedly get automated emails over several days saying there was information missing. Very annoying.

A stunning property for a large gathering. It is beautifully maintained, very comfortable, with lots of room for everyone. The kitchen is very well stocked for self catering, with three fridges and one freezer. Loads of plates and pots and pans. The huge garden is delightful and was so pretty in the snow. Lots of thoughtful touches like LED candles, large shower gels and handsoaps. The fluffiest towels ever! Michelle was in contact before, during and after our stay and was really helpful. She was very accommodating on check in and departure times, thank you. House was very warm and cosy, despite freezing temperatures. Lots of nice walks nearby, a good Sunday Roast at the local pub and good coffee and supplies at local farm shop/cafe. Tring nearby has a good supermarket, antique centre and brewery. What's not to love!

Birthday weekend. My family had a wonderful time at The Old Rectory and it accommodated us all excellently. It was very well equipped and we enjoyed the huge garden and outdoor facilities.

We loved the space in the house, the well-equipped kitchen, the bedrooms and the peace and quiet.

The checking in process could be improved. I had to ask 3 times and then make a phone call before I got an answer to a question. Also, some of the lighting at the back of the house is missing, making it quite dark. My mother fell because she did not see a step and hurt her nose badly.
Unfortunately, the previous guests had left the house in a mess and the single toilet upstairs was not working, which was a shame.

We held a family reunion at the house with 4 generations present.

Everyone had a fantastic time. The house delivered in every respect, comfortable, easy to use, with more than enough space for everyone. We were blessed with good weather and so made good use of the immaculate patio and garden. The youngsters especially enjoyed the hot tub. Michelle was great at communicating and ensured we had everything we needed. Everyone was sorry to be leaving such a great space when the time came to leave.

Thank you so much for all the clear communication leading up to our stay and clear instructions on how to access the property on the day. The host was easy to contact and were very helpful throughout. The property itself is beautiful, clean and very well decorated. Each room is spacious and has everything you would need for the stay. The kitchen is well kitted out with utensils, crockery etc and the grounds outside are well kept. We told the host that we would have a toddler with us and they provided a cot with bedding, high chair and even a car seat! Overall we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly as we had no issues whatsoever and would recommend this space to everyone!
