Description
Shortflatt Farm Cottage is a characterful property in a stunning, rural location surrounded by farm fields and with access to a private lake. The beautiful country views make for a relaxing break while the walled garden is perfect for those wanting to bring a dog. Hiking, cycling and nature enthusiasts will all find Shortflatt Farm Cottage the ideal holiday spot at any time of the year.
Guests step in to the kitchen with a handy adjoining utility room which is the perfect place to leave the coats and wellies after a long country walk. The kitchen is well-stocked for a self-catering stay with all the equipment and amenities to cook up a feast. It has the added advantage of a dishwasher and a washing machine/tumble dryer too.
The large dining room (seats six) and living rooms are downstairs along with the shower room and WC. The living room has a large log burner which will guests will enjoy in the cooler autumn and winter evenings.
The cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms which are both found upstairs. Please note that the staircase is rather steep so may not be suitable for anyone with restricted mobility. The master bedroom has a kingsized bed whilst the second bedroom is a twin with the beds nestled in the eaves. The family bathroom can also be found upstairs. All rooms enjoy countryside views from the windows.
Outside, the lawned garden is enclosed and there is a patio area with table, chairs and a BBQ (gas provided). Shortflatt Farm Cottage also has the incredible bonus of its own private lake - just a short walk from the cottage. The short walk from the cottage is down a grassy lane, so not in the immediate vicinity to be a worry around small children - although, they should be supervised at all times.
Private, off-road parking is available in front of the cottage.
Booking Terms:
1 dog is welcome, and 2 dogs will be considered upon request. There is an additional £20 charge for a dog. It is requested that they stay off furniture and out of bedrooms.
Bookings can be cancelled for a full refund up until 4 weeks before check-in date. Within 4 weeks of arrival, the balance is not refundable.

The location is perfect for a peaceful getaway and the scenery is beautiful. The cottage itself is beautiful and had everything we needed for our week. We cooked most days in the well equipped kitchen and there was nothing missing. Everything was clesee more

Beautiful cottage in a fantastic quiet, tranquil location. Outstanding views from every window. Lovely secure garden and overlooking fields and live stock. Lovely clean and has everything you need. This was a perfect retreat for me, my partner and mysee more

This was a perfect retreat for me, my partner and my mum (who’s always wanted to visit Northumberland, this was her 70th birthday present) she was thrilled as soon as we turned onto the driveway. Our bulldog (Reg) had a fabulous time playing in the secure garden of the cottage and on our last morning we turned left out of the cottage to find a hidden lake house this had a sofa and games but also logs ready for us to have a lovely fire!!!! I wish we found this at the beginning of the holiday but our experience in the cottage am sure we’ll be back. This cottage reminds me of the cottage in ‘The Holiday’ film….. just what I pictured. A must book!!!! See you again xx
